National Mental Health Survey(NMHS)
IMHANS was one of the collaborating institutions for the national mental health survey, conducted by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore. The national mental health survey was undertaken in 12 states of India during 201-16 with financial support from the ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India. Our faculty organized the survey in Kerala in which data from three districts (Thrissur and Pathanamthitta, Palakkad) was collected
State Mental Health Survey
The state level epidemiological study of psychiatric disorders was organized by the Kerala State Mental Health Authority and was funded by the National Health Mission, govt. of Kerala. IMHANS was one of the partner institutions and our faculty was involved in organizing the study in Kasargode and Wayand districts. The study report was published in 2016.
Developing a model for resource room training for slow learners in normal schools:
The research project was undertaken with the support of the Child Development Centre (CDC), Thiruvananthapuram in 2009 with the aim to evaluate the effectiveness of Individualized Education Program (IEP) for slow learners modeled on resource room training in normal schools.
Prevalence of sexual abuse among adolescents
The research project was undertaken with support from the Malayala Manorama daily to assess the awareness about the nature and consequences of child abuse, among school going adolescents in selected districts in Kerala in 2010.
The CDS- IMHANS provided technical and infrastructure support for the following postgraduate theses done at the department of Paediatrics at the Govt. Medical College, Kozhikode.
